Hello Randy Satterfield, i think the decor of that stein is not onion. It looks like onion but it is Strohblume - Indisch-blau (straw flower - indian-blue). Many europeen porcelain producers, the most of germany, had used it for table dishes in different workmanship. In the german net you can find under the key-word Porzellansammlung Strohblume Indisch-blau a lot of producers, base marks and design dates of that decor. With friendly regards, Lupo der Wolf
