The center front has the insignia of the 31st Armored Infantry Battalion, part of the 2nd Armored Division. Above it the stein is named to John L. Hood. Below it is: Coleman Barracks - Mannheim Germany - 1955 - 56. On the left side is a painting of an APC and crossed muskets. On the right side is the insignia of the 2nd Armored Division and a painting of a tank. The lid features a finial of a APC and the insignia of the United Stats on the thumblift.
