A glass stein with a pewterlid. The lid has the text "Zum Franziskaner" in high relief.
This stein was made around 1890. The lid is marked 'P. Wittorf Hamburg", a pewterer that is known to have worked from around 1847 until the early 1900's [link] .
The age is also visible in the quality of the glass itself. There are some imperfections (bubbles) in the glass body.
The text on the pewter lid, "Zum Franziskaner" probably refers to a restaurant of bar that the stein was commissioned for.
There is no capacity mark on this glass beerstein, but it's capacity will be circa 1/2 liter.
