A stoneware stein, produced by Hauber & Reuther in the end of the 19th century. The stein has a typical 'historismus' or historical design and has been massproduced. This model (mold nr 153) came with different verses. The verse on this particular stein says "Beim küssen zwei, beim trinken drei, beim singen vier, das lob ich mir" (I wish for myself two when kissing, three when drinking and four when singing.) I have no idea what exactly it is that he wishes for himself. Maybe it's the number of beers..?
The base of this stein is marked with the HR factory marking and the mold number 153.
