A replica bearded (or Bellarmine) jug, produced by Reinhold Merkelbach in the early 20th century as part of a series of 45 reproductions of historic jugs. Reinhold Merkelbach copied originals that were in museums all over Germany. The original of this model came from the Suermondmuseum in Aachen.
The same mold number (12) was also used in the late 19th C, for a historismus stein.
