Merkelbach stein with a very heavy and ornate pewter lid.
The stein is decorated in historismus style and has a verse:"Trink nach alter Deutscher weise, in der freunde frohem Kreise, lange diesen Krug noch leer.".
Dated on the lid 5 November 1896.
