Unions Bräu München “UBM”

Hard to notice in my pictures, but if you look closely in the lower left side of beer barrel, you will see the two Towers of the Frauenkirche down below on earth.

Colors are still brilliant, bold, and colorful

Beautiful Münchner Kindl design holding up high, not one, but two masskrugs, while sitting on a beer barrel from the “UBM” brauerei, atop the clouds!!

Beautiful original lid with proper thumblift for the era. See close up of mark underneath lid.

Notice the two masskrugs being held up high and “UBM” on the side of the beer keg.

1/2L and calibration marks incised

Distinctive capacity mark from MW Gr.

Excellent condition and super clean inside and out.

Perhaps the original owner’s initials, looks like “EL”, crudely engraved on the side of the lid. I’m not sure the engraving is “EL”???

This stein looks great from every angle!

Maker and age:
Impressed Merkelbach & Wick Grenzhausen roundel on base.
c. 1879-1921. I think probably closer to 1890s - 1905. I welcome your opinion.

I found very little information on Unions-Brau - Unionsbrau, so I turned to ChatGPT for possible greater insight on UBM.
