IX Deutsches Sänger Bundesfest Hannover 1924
This piece is not an old German brewery stein I normally collect. However, what attracted me to it, besides the cool design, is the significance of the “Deutsches Sänger Bundesfests”, and later these events carried over to the U.S. and Canada. It is interesting to read the history about these events, both in Germany and in North America.
Original owner’s description:
“Seltener Bierkrug mit Zinnmontur / Festkrug.
"IX Deutsches Sänger Bundesfest Hannover 1924".
0,5 Liter, Steingut. Maße: ca. 15 x 14 x 10 cm. from the se ler.
Höhe ohne Deckel: ca. 12,5 cm. Guter gebrauchter Zustand, altersbedingte Gebrauchsspuren.”
Translation:
“Rare beer stein with pewter fittings / festival stein.
"IX German Singers' Federal Festival Hanover 1924."
0.5 liters, stoneware. Dimensions: approx. 15 x 14 x 10 cm.
Height without lid: approx. 12.5 cm. Good used condition, with age-related wear”.

Note: I believe there is a typo in the short paragraph. It mentions World War 2. I think the author meant World War 1. This event took place in 1924, in the aftermath of WW1, not WW2.
