Lutz Brauerei Kreuzwertheim | (Brauerei Lutz = Spessart Brauerei)
This stein is a special one for me as it commemorates the 50 Year Brauerei Lutz - 1887-1937 Anniversary. See image of lid.
Small excerpt taken from de.wiki link provided below:
“The Spessart Brewery has its origins in the “Golden Lion” Inn at the site of today’s brewery, which was first mentioned on May 9, 1741… The reopening of the brewery dates back to 1887, the year the present brewery was founded and operated under the name Brauerei Lutz . The Lutz brewery's logo featured an upright lion, which was later replaced by two lions and the then coat of arms of Kreuzwertheim. In the 1970s, Horst Müller succeeded Lutz. The brewery was gradually renamed Spessart Brewery. The woodpecker became the new company logo.”
