Augustiner-Bräu Brauerei München Steinkrug

Merkelbach & Wick

From the collection of Jorge O. Soriano

AUGUSTINER-BRAU MUNCHEN

Old German lettering (“U” looks like “V”).

Bad picture lighting

AUGUSTUNER BRAU MUNCHEN (J.W.)

Beautiful lid with the J.W. logo. See links in description that discuss the significance of “J.W.”

Now this is very interesting and unique; I’ve never seen this before?

So, what is the actual capacity??? See image below.

Was this a mistake on the capacity and calibration marks or something else???

Beautiful lid and ball thumblift

Merkelbach & Wick

I think the circled letters are “Z” ?

Augustiner-Bräu Brauerei München

One of my favorite breweries and beers in the world.

So, we have here another interesting and intriguing capacity and calibration marks on the side of the stein. Was this a mistake by Merkelbach & Wick and later corrected by the brewery or perhaps an Augustiner Brauhaus or Kellerhaus? What is the actual capacity supposed to be??

As always, I welcome your input. Thanks!
