Kochelbrau Munchen Steinkrug

Merkelbach & Wick

From the collection of Jorge O. Soriano

Kochelbrau Munchen

Fancy thumblift

Must read link in description section. Very cool information.

No capacity or calibration marks

Hairline crack bottom side near base. Very good condition otherwise. Does not detract from presentation.

Merkelbach & Wick and possibly the letter “P”

Note from original owner left in each of the lot of steins I bought from him.

Important historical piece.

Continuation of article above

Deutsch: Kochel-Brauerei an der Schmied-Kochel-Straße in München Sendling. Aufnahme um 1905. Public domain image confirmed.

Kochelbrau Munchen Steinkrug

I always welcome and appreciate additional information. The main areas of interest to me are: Maker, age (YEAR when known), brewery and historical references, especially if associated with the stein, such as the Prosit article (see pics). Note: The Prosit images are from an SCI webpage but the link would not open here.

Very nice, old Kochelbrau stein. Has minor damage (hairline crack), but does not detract from the overall presentation. See pictures.

Kochel Brewery.

Hello mysteincollection.com community. I always welcome and appreciate additional information. The main areas of interest to me are: Maker, age, brewery and historical references, especially if associated with the stein, such as the last few images show.

For this particular steinkrug, I’d like to know if a specific date (year) can be determined based on the lid? I know Merkelbach & Wick produced steins from 1879-1921. Interesting comment from original owner (see his notes page).
