Kaiser Wilhelm II. Steinkrug

From the collection of Jorge O. Soriano

Kaiser Wilhelm II

Nice pewter lid design with brewer’s star and hops Thumblift must have broke off but the area where it broke off is smooth, as if it was buffed of rough edges? Not sure. Lid is quite loose.

I’m unsure of size, probably 0,4L

Hard to tell in pictures, but the coloring of this stein is a light green, which I like

See links for historical information.

Inside the Iron Cross or Knight’s Cross are the following: A crown, W, and 1914.

Kaiser Wilhelm II.

I really like this light green colored stein for the historical context it evokes of that era. Wilhelm II was the last German emperor (kaiser) and king of Prussia, whose bellicose policies helped to bring about World War One. Wilhelm II (1859-1941), the German kaiser (emperor) and king of Prussia from 1888 to 1918, was one of the most recognizable public figures of World War I (1914-18).

See the year “1914”, a “W” and a “crown” inside the Iron Cross or “Knight’s Cross”.
