I have not begun to research this beautiful faience stein. I’ll have to start by learning about faience steins in general. Then I will attempt to identify maker, designer, age, & perhaps some history etc.
It does appear there are good clues, especially the two engraved marks on lid. The base has a “TU” or “TV” lightly engraved as well. Of course, the design itself.
It’s really a beautiful piece that I was initially attracted to by the brewers’ motif, but there is much more to appreciate once it’s in your hand, like the overall design, lively colors, intricate lid with marks, and wide base with pewter foot ring.
Lid is a bit loose, but firmly affixed to hinge. Great condition, especially for these fragile faience style of steins, which are very difficult to find without cracks, such as this one.
This stein came from a private inheritance collection in Bavaria, Germany.

I will try to post at least one a day, as I strive to catalog “mysteincollection”.
