Purple Glass Stein

Blown glass. The deep purple coloring comes from the addition of manganese dioxide during the glass making process. Thick scrolled handle and visible, unground pontil mark.
Copper wheel cut floral designs on the central portion of the body and a cornice-like design along the upper portion.
Tiered lid, large closed 5 ring hinge, and pewter foot ring. Lid is personalized "LEVS" and dated 1811.
