Porcelain stein with transfer decoration and hand painted accents.
From The Beer Stein Book pg. 126: Transfer-printing techniques were brought to Germany from England in the early 1800's. "By the late 1800's, transfer-printing and pewter lids were commonplace on porcelain steins."
Translation: "A good drink, makes the old young."
