Blown glass with unevenly ground pontil mark.
Copper wheel etched instruments, musical notes, and "Henry Weiss".
Heavy open 5 ring hinge with the lyre thumb lift attached to the lid. c.1875-1895 was a transition period when thumb lifts were being moved back over the hinge, hinges were transitioning from closed 5 ring to heavy open 3 ring, with open 5 ring being the predominant hinge c.1895. The lid has a lyre etched on it and the Name "Heinrich Weiss"
I found information on a popular German composer, Heinrich Weiss (03/25/1836 - 08/14/1914) and wonder if there is any connection to this little stein.
