This stein belonged to my wife's grandfather. He was born in Germany 1902 and migrated to the USA. My mother-in-law doesn't know much about it but remembers it. Her older sister thought her father brought it over from Germany. And her younger brother said he was president of a local German club in 1957 and someone made it for him. So nobody really knows where it came from. Anyway my wife's uncle gave it to me because I saw it setting on his work bench broken. I made some small repairs and now I display it. It's about 10-1/2" to the top of the lid and 6" across the base. His initials were A.H. as on the lid, and the initials M.G.H. possibly the makers on the bottom. I never had any liquid in it but I guess it's about 2L.
