Matthias Germscheid in 1884 was apparently engaged initially in the manufacture of clay pipes.1903 the firm was listed as a “stoneware factory” and the employer of forty workers. They are still in business today, "The First Kiss" stein is approximately 9-3/4" tall, and has #582T under the handle and a 1/2L capacity mark. Plus #7674 and Germany on the base. The Beer Stein Library lists it as #582. In 1887 it was required to have Germany or Made in Germany on all exports. This stein was probably made 1903-1939 when WW2 started.
