M&W made steins 1872-1921, this "Various Subjects" stein is about 8-1/4" to the top of the lid, it has a 0,3L capacity mark and a hard to see circular M&W logo on the base. It doesn't have the mold number #1183 or Germany. It was required in 1887 to have Germany or Made in Germany on all exports. The three ring heavy pewter was used around 1875-1895. This stein may have been made 1875-1886.
