Whites of Utica New York USA made steins 1885-1907, this stein is about 13" tall. They never had capacity marks or mold numbers. But usually had a number on the bottom that had something to do with the size of the stein, but this one has nothing. In 1894 a German artist named Hugo Billhardt was hired. He was responsible for mold designing and introducing the German designs we often see. He worked there until 1901. A lot of their steins have sayings in German, possibly to fool people into thinking it was made in Germany. Whites had two seems, one under the handle and the other in the front. German steins have the main design on the front, where English style steins have the design on the side with the handle showing.
