Matthias Germscheid in 1884 was apparently engaged initially in the manufacture of clay pipes.1903 the firm was listed as a “stoneware factory” and the employer of forty workers. They are still in business today, This "A Question of the Heart" stein is approximately 12-1/4" tall, and has a 3/4L capacity mark. There is Germany and mold #1065 on the base and also under the handle. But no makers mark. It has a five ring pewter hinge so it may have been made 1900-1939 when WW2 started.
“Die wärmste Liebe wird kalt, der Durst wächst mit Gewalt.”
