Marzi & Remy made steins 1879-1994. This "Alpine Scene" stein is about 10" tall. It doesn't have a makers mark or Germany. It has a 0.5L capacity mark, mold #1589 on the bottom and also under the handle. This stein body was used for Various subjects, including Reservist steins. In 1887 it was required to have Germany or Made in Germany on all exports. This stein was probably made 1901 or a few years earlier and sold in Germany. It's a remembrance steins for Gnesener 1864-1904. The PUG "print under glaze "with the white hand painted highlights" buttons plus a few other things that you can actually feel" add so much to this beautiful stein, and the hand lettering at the top is just amazing.
"Spar nicht angstlich Geld u. Gut, trinke wenn dir's schmecken thut."
(Don't timidly save money and possessions, drink when it tastes good to you.)
