Reinhold Merkelbach made beer steins 1882-2007, this stein is about 6-1/2" tall. There is a 1/2L capacity mark and mold #851 on the base and under the handle, no R. Merkelbach logo or Germany on the bottom. In 1887 it was required to have Germany or Made in Germany on all exports. This stein has a three ring open pewter hinge, they were used around 1875-1895. It was probably made around 1882-1895. On the lid it has "Andenken v Bagi Milla" (Souvenirs from Bagi Milla)
