Simon Peter Gerz made steins 1862-1999. This Monk was marked #262 at the factory, but it should have been marked #208. No capacity, makers mark or Germany. It was probably made before 1887 because it doesn't have Germany on the base. This heavy three ring pewter hinge was used around 1875-1895.
