1/2L Munich Souvenir stein, in addition to the beautiful centrally depicted old cityscape, on either side of the handle are shields. One with the Munich child and the other a lion. On the pewter lid is Germania with lion and “Gruß aus München” (Greetings from Munich). According to John McGregor's web site this is a #3 Hauber & Reuther, but there is no mold number on this stein. There is a Gerz capacity mark on this stein. H&R lost its clay supply in 1886. It's thought Gerz used H&R molds and made stein bodies for H&R. The bottom of this stein looks like a H&R decorators mark is scribed in. H&R may have painted and refired it and added the pewter lid. It's about 6" to the top of the lid.
