In addition to the centrally depicted cityscape, side images show the Frauenadler (eagle woman), a symbol of Nuremberg since at least the 17th century, and a crowned eagle from the Bavarian coat-of-arms. Made by Hauber & Reuther for August Ludwig Wahnschaffe. Toy manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer. Purveyor to the Royal Bavarian Court, was awarded by King Ludwig III. There are no HR logo marks on these steins, only "A. Wahnschaffe/Königl. bayer. Hoflieferant/Nürnberg." There is no HR capacity or geseztlich geschutst marks. But there are identifying HR factory quality control and decorator marks. This is a 1/2L Nürnberg souvenir stein about 8" to the top of the pewter lid.
