Early Freising factory, pre-Hauber & Reuther, robust-bodied character stein. Made by Schön & Hauber or the Albert Hauber company Sept 1,1876 to late 1881. They used a 4 or 5mm size mold number. The "L" in the capacity mark does not have a serif (horizontal top line) until 1882 when it became Hauber & Ruther. Designed by Albert Hauber. It's about 8" tall. Many of the early character steins did not have a thumblift.
