Produced by Rastal as mugs and steins, both of which are within my collection.
Designed by Nathalie Fumelli (Munich, Germany)
The lid relief depicts Xaver Krenkl (1780-1860), a repeat winner of the Oktoberfest horse race, but best known for his comment after overtaking the coach of King Ludwig I in Munich’s English Garden. When the king called out, “Doesn’t he know that overtaking the king is forbidden?” Krenkl famously replied, “Majestät, wer ko, der ko!” (“Your Majesty, those who can, do!”) (BSL)
