The lid relief depicts Princes Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen and Crown Prince Ludwig, who was later crowned King Ludwig I of Bavaria. The depiction replicates the image on a silver and bronze medal, designed by Munich medal maker Karl Goetz and minted by the Bavarian State Mint in 1935 to commemorate the 125th Oktoberfest. (BSL)
