This large amber coloured glass jug is dated juli 1887 on the lid.
The front has a handpainted scene.
Around the body are two rows of so-called prunts.
The pewter lid, thumbrest and hinge are very ornate.
Excluding the lid it measurs 34.5 centimeters. To the tip of the thumbrest it is 43 cm.
Sadly the foot of the jug is badly damaged, beyond repair. But I love it anyway, mainly because of the great pewterwork.
