Spaten-Bräu 1L masskrug of grey salt-glazed stoneware with black letter Fraktur / Gothic script and logo. The base is not maker marked but the large outline ‘1 L’ and capacity line marked to the front is distinctive, and it could have been made by Marzi & Remy – see capacity mark ‘MR No. 12’ at [link]
This example dates from the period circa 1905 to the early 1920s and is the type displayed on Spaten-Bräu advertising posters until about 1925. It has a domed pewter lid, also bearing the brewery logo.
