Barrel stein with engraved lid for what appears to be a gift to a man. Web searches show similar steins, except my stein's lid is engraved with what appear to be highly stylized initials and an inscription "gener.(?) Franz Muller" The u in Muller has the umlout (double dots) above it. I thought maybe the "gener" is for General, but it is not capitalized. It may be a german word I am obviously not familiar with. I know this stein is similar to Mr. Van Eck's barrel stein and how I found this website.
