Manning Bowman produced these glass bottom pewter steins for fraternities over a number of years. This one is identical to the stein pictured in American Fraternity Stein 3. The name of the student and, presumably, the founding date of the fraternity are on the side. The college and date (1931) are on the top of the lid and are the same. So these two steins belonged to fraternity brothers and the got them at the same time. Remarkably I obtained these steins two years apart from different parts of the country.
