A drinking verse is on this pewter stein, and boy are they drinking!
The pewter top shows a monk, drinking. In front of him lies a devil on the floor.. drinking!
And the body of the stein shows people smoking.. and drinking!
Very heavy solid pewter stein, produced around 1860~1890. On the base is a (probably) pewterer's mark in the form of the leaf of a plant or tree. I have no idea what producer that might be.
The stein is 12.5 centimeters tall without the lid and thumbrest, 19.5 centimeters including the lid and thumbrest. It weighs a hefty 1.6 kilos.
