German antique car club stein. The stein was manufactured by Eckhardt & Engler, Höhr-Grenzhausen on the occasion of the 40th anniversary car club in 1940, called Allgemeiner Schnauferl-Club (ASC) only for members of the club. The ASC is the predecessor of ADAC the today´s biggest car club in Europe. That stein is not shown in the offical Eckhardt & Engler catalogue. In front of the stein you see the Benz Motorwagen Patent-No. 1 from 1886. On the pewter lid is an elated technical drawing of an intake valve and the letters ASC. Schnauferl means the noise of the intake valve by early four stroke engines. On the base producer mark, 3 and a ink stamp: Zinngiesserei Max Rackl, München 13 for the lid and capacity mark.
