This porcelain character stein is shaped as a nun.
It is pictured in Manusov & Wald's book "Character steins" at page 163.
This stein used to have a porcelain base with a lithophane in it. However, a at some point probably the lithophane was removed and a solid pewter base was put in as a replacement. I think this alteration was done in the late 19th century or early 20th century. A very nice example of an early repair or alteration.
