A 1 liter capacity stein, produced by Simon Peter Gerz, circa 1890 ~ 1900.
The phrase on the front reads:
“Sie tränken noch ein Seidel
Ehe sie gingen
Die alten Deutschen”
This translates as:
“They drank another stein (of beer)
before they went
the old Germans”
The example in the photos is marked on the base with mold number 49D, where the 'D' suggests there were at least 3 other products that used that same body mold.
