A character stein (jug) in the shape of a round-bellied bearded man, wearing a hat.
On his tummy is the phrase "Am jüngsten Tage wird's geschaut was mancher hier für Bier gebraut ".
Marked on the base with the model number 143 (inscribed). There is no producer's mark.
This jug was probably produced in the westerwald area, Germany, anywhere in the 3rd quarter of the 19th century.
