Paul translated lid for me:
“Aus Gersten und Hopfen braue ich Bier. O du mein Liebchen komm und trinke mit mir.",
"I brew beer from barley and hops. Oh, my love, come and drink with me."
This steinkrug is very heavy and massive. I really love the interesting porcelain inlay lid with super cool saying; awesome and rare thumblift; and of course, the beautiful and highly decorative pewter work.
This is an awesome steinkrug!!
Any additional information is always welcomed and appreciated!

The attached letter was provided to me by seller. Im confused because it was advertised as being from around 1885, and a handwritten note he sent with the stein says its age is “um 1885”, but then the letter says he is sure it’s a Wick-Werke and they produced steins from 1921-1937. ???
I welcome and greatly appreciate any information anyone can provide on this one?
Maker?
Age?
Lid significance?
The Lid says: "Aus Gersten und Hopfen braue ich Bier. O du mein Liebchen komm und trinke mit mir.", which translates as "I brew beer from barley and hops. Oh, my love, come and drink with me."
The attribution to WickWerke is 100% false. It was made in the 1880's.
Lovey stein! Prosit!
