Simon Peter Giles (or Gikes and Son) Ram in Barrel reproduction in limited color brown and tan, 1 liter. Depicts a ram head in a barrel with banner on both sides and monkey handle. Banner says "If the bock hits you, then resist, if it throws you, then rest well"
The following information is from Mike Finney of the Pennsylvania Keysteiners:
Your stein is different; it was made for the Neweiler Brewery in Allentown, Pennsylvania. They had a lot of different steins made for them, quite a few with large pewter animals on the lids. Your lid has HB on the two steins and all the others on your stein body have N for Neweiler. All the other Neweiler steins I have seen have N’s on every stein with an extra banner with Neweiler on it. The originals were made by J.W.Remy and from the pictures in the Beer Stein Library it appears most of the steins on the body were unmarked except on the lid with HB. The markings on the base of your stein has S over G for Simon Peter Giles or Giles and Son. I guess they acquired the mold from J.W.Remy. (Picture of variations from Mike Finney)
