Marzi & Remy made steins 1870-1994 this Courting couple 1/2L stein is about 6-1/2" high and it's about 8" to the top of the acorn thumb lift. The handle and capacity mark are M&R but no mold number, logo or Germany. I couldn't find it in the BSL or SCI's old catalog section. In 1887 it was required to have Germany or Made in Germany on all exports. The words on the sides look like (Gritts dich amors pfeil all hier, Wasch die munde dir mit bier) "Cupid's arrow hits you all here, Wash your mouth with beer" I used google translate and something doesn't sound right. The pewterer was Jon Hiedl & Sohn originally from Straubling and later moved to München, known dates 1906-1926. It could have been made 1870-1886 and the lid was replaced 1906-1926.
