I bought this stein cheap on ebay only because it was made by Hauber & Reuther 1882-1886. It's had some hard use and missing the lid. At first glance I had no idea it could have been made by H&R. The handle is not on any H&R stein in the Beer Stein Library or John McGregor's Freising and H&R site. I checked all the H&R steins in MySteinCollection.com and anywhere else I looked. I have never seen that decretive band with the 4 vertical lines and a space then 4 vertical lines again. Plus the relief edelweiss flowers above the top band, H&R steins don't seem to have that above the top band. It has the capacity fill mark but no capacity amount and no mold number. If anyone out there has a H&R stein with this handle please leave me a memo below and a way to reach you. Thanks Mike
