0,5l Mettlach stein named "Bowling", has catalogue number 1403. Dated 1888. Has inlaid lid. I'm not sure if the tin lid is original, I think the inlaid center is, but I have doubts about the rest of the tin lid, because it seems to be too high and doesn't fit well to the top of the stein (maybe the middle part was moved over time to another lid with a hinge). It is above it by about 2-3 mm, which creates a gap between the upper part of the stein and the lid. Additionaly has three ring closed pewter hinge, so Mettlach has mostly five ring closed pewter hinge from this period of time I think.
What do you think about this lid? Can Mettlach have such a "blemish" when it comes to the lid? From what I've seen so far, they have everything nicely matched and beautiful. Please comment. Best Regards
