Made by J.W.Remy #1283 0,5L about 9" tall. This stein seems to have it all, a lot of HB steins, Ram, Barrel, Monkey handle, Tom Cat in front and some radishes. This one has Made in Germany not West Germany and has1283 on the base.
Stosst dich der Bock, dann trotze du, Wirft er dich um, dann-gute Ruh!
(If the bock hits you, resist, If it throws you, than rest well.)
According to the Beer Stein Library the original barrel was a darker brown and the Ram was grayish. Some reproductions had 1283 on the base but most had 11283.
Some special order steins were made for the Louis F. Neuweiler brewery in Allentown Pennsylvania USA. On some another banner was added under the original with (NEUWEILER) on it. But all of the beer steins had a capital N instead of HB. Simon Peter Gilles must have acquired the mold from J.W.Remy and also made this stein for Neuweiler, because his mark was on the base S over a G.
