This stein shows the patch of the 1st Battalion 6th Infantry Regiment on front and is named to Ed Zabel. The 6th Regiment, along with the 11th, was formed by Congress on 11 January 1953 as a run up to The War of 1812. The right side shows it's location as Berlin and is dated Christmas, 1953. The left side show it's list of Battle Honors. Hower these are not it's Battle oners, it's the regiments Campaign Participation Credits. The current list adds eleven campaigns in Vietnam and "The Global War on Terrorism". Apparently they skipped The Koren War, which ended in 1953. 1953 was, as it happens, the year of my birth. The finial is an infantryman holding what appears to be a BAR. The thumblift is the U.S. Seal. The lithophane is the mostly nude woman that came to be almost universal on Cold War steins.
