Although not marked, this stoneware jug was probably produced by the company Fritz Thenn. Since it is not decorated at all, it is believed to be a so-called 'blank', destined for a decorating shop to finish it with a nice decoration. The company of August Saeltzer is known to have decorated this model jug, among other products.
In january 2023 a set of two of these jugs, both nicely decorated by A. Saeltzer, was offered on a stein auction company.
