The central scene of this year’s Jahreskrug was designed by Leo Hoefter, a self-taught artist and depicts the Munich Child and Aloisius, the Hofbrauhaus Beer Angel, looking out from one of the beer tents at the shining sun with the giant Ferris wheel in the background. The image on the embossed lid is of Franz Xaver Kugler (1873-1935), one of the early Oktoberfest beer tent hosts.
