Rastal Werk

Uit de verzameling van Walter Swett

Text translates to: Everything has three sides, a positive, a negative and a comical one

Text translates to: People, avoid the alcohol, instead drink a beer. The future back in the day was also better.

Text translates to: Today is the good old days of tomorrow. There are things that should not be ignored because ignoring them means they have already been given too much prominence

Rastal is responsible for the production of the Wies'n Wirte series that began in 2002, but subcontracts the production out to Schilz. This stein is number 1075 of a 2000 limited edition. The 2021 stein was special because it represented 2020 Oktoberfest which was cancelled and 2021 which was scheduled to proceed, but which was also ultimately cancelled. As a result of the cancellation, the 2020/2021 stein had a smaller than normal production run.

On the 2020 side of the design is the heading "Masslos" (Stein less) and on the 2021 side the heading "Extramass" (Extra stein). In the center is an image of Karl Valentin, a Munich comedian, cabaret performer, clown, author and film producer who was frequently called the "Charlie Chaplin" of Germany. He is flanked on the 2020 side by a sleeping Bavarian Lion and on the 2021 side, the Munich Child. Around the bottom of the image are the names of the Wies'n Wirte and the word "SCHLUCKIMPFUNG" (oral vaccination).

The pewter lid shows various tools and ingredients of the brewer's trade and the saying "Hopfen und Malz Gott erhalts" (Hops and Malt-God Preserve Them)

The designer was Maximilian Fliessbach (also known by his artist name "Marsilius").
