This jug was designed by Paul Wynand and has been produced by Reinhold Merkelbach and also by Simon Peter Gerz I. The jug was also marketed for a short period of time through the sales consortium Steinzeugwerke.
It is found in both the blue/gray saltglaze finished stoneware as in the so-called "Elfenbeinsteinzeug" variation.
