No base markings, listed in TBSL as 1499 based on a hand written base mark, similar to some later pug decorated steins with simialr bodies that appeard later. However, this is the same stein body as the prolific 990. I believe that this and other similar steins, with the had written four digit number in black, are in fact decoration numbers. Marzi and Remy didn't use decoration numbers normally, but it makes sense in this case. Salt glazed. Normally with this type of decoration there side caretouches with text. They are missing here. Possibly because of the brown glaze?
